In short: On Long Island, the NYC Department of Buildings does not issue permits. Building permits come from your town, city, or village building department, and each county licenses home improvement contractors: the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs and the Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing & Consumer Affairs. Elite plans the local approvals and quotes every job after a free site walk.

By county

Nassau and Suffolk counties
