How we work

How an Elite project runs, from site walk to handover

Every Elite job follows the same five steps under one foreman, so your schedule has a single owner from demolition to the final coat of paint.

  • Free site walk
  • Line-item estimate
  • One foreman for every trade
  • Joint punch list

In short: Elite runs every project in five steps: a free site walk, a written line-item estimate, approvals and scheduling, the build under one foreman, and a joint punch list and handover. You always know who is responsible and what comes next.

The five steps

What working with Elite looks like

  1. Site walkWe walk the space with you, review drawings, sketches, a landlord work letter, or board rules, and note anything that affects cost or schedule.
  2. Line-item estimateYou get a written estimate broken out by trade, so you can compare bids line by line and against any allowance.
  3. Approvals and scheduleWe flag what needs a DOB permit, landlord or board approval, or an After Hours Variance, and set the written schedule before demolition.
  4. Build under one foremanDemolition, framing, electrical coordination, sheetrock, millwork, and paint run on one schedule with one point of contact.
  5. Punch list and handoverWe walk the finished space together, list every open item, and close the punch list.

FAQ

Questions about our process

Is the site walk free?

Yes. The site walk and estimate are free, with no obligation.

Who handles electrical and plumbing?

NYC requires electrical work to be performed by a DOB-licensed electrical contractor and plumbing by a Licensed Master Plumber. That work runs on the same schedule as every other trade.

Who is my point of contact?

One foreman runs your job and is your point of contact for the schedule.

Will I know what needs a permit before work starts?

Yes. Permits, approvals, and any after-hours needs are flagged at the estimate stage and built into the schedule. See which NYC renovations need a DOB permit.
